Zac Knighton-Smith
Zac is 6 years old. He is the most charismatic, adorable little boy. He loves to play football, and is an avid support of Manchester United (his favourite player is Wayne Rooney). Last November he was chosen to be a mascot for their televised game against Everton after being nominated by Families Against Neuroblastoma and the Children's charity Sparks. He strutted out onto the field holding the hand of Ryan Giggs to his favourite song, the theme tune to Rocky. He loves playing outside on his bike with his friends or inside on the Wii.
In February 2009 Zachary was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, Stage IV AcuteNEUROBLASTOMA after doctors discovered a 10 cm tumour in his stomach and smaller growths on his thigh and pelvis. He was five years old. Zac has had an operation, chemotherapy (three times) and radiotherapy (which has damaged his hearing).
Zac is now receiving cutting edge treatment in Germany. The treatment is not available in the UK. His family have found themselves needing to raise vast sums of money to take him abroad again for a further operation.
Please help us give Zac the chance at life he deserves. He has been through so much and is so close to being back to a normal little boy, yet without the money to fund this operation, it's a case of 'so near yet so far'.
Zac has an indomitable spirit and lets nothing get him down, but we really need your help.
Your donation can save this little boy's life.
