Bailey Sarwa

Our beautiful son Bailey fell poorly at the age of 4. Several visits to our GP and hospital found nothing. More visits were needed as calpol no longer took the pain away. Bailey would scream in pain, he started limping and wouldn't walk. Bailey hadn't moved the sofa in days, so we took him to hospital again. The doctor turned to me and said. "There is a problem, the problem is here" 'tapping her head' (insinuating it was all in my mind). Another doctor examined Bailey, turned to the first doctor and asked her to feel Bailey's tummy and explain why she had failed to find the large tumour in his tummy!!! CANCER. Our lives came crashing down. Everything a whirlwind. Great Ormond Street, became our home for most of the next two years and we watched Bailey fight to live through all the suffering, pain and sickness with broken hearts. We began to believe he had beaten it, we were thankful he was feeling well. Bailey relished every single moment and we watched him thrive. 2 years came and went, our lives seemed to be normal. Then the magic milestone came, 5 years in remission! Bailey had beaten Neuroblastoma, he was CURED! Tragically, after being in remission for almost 7 years, our beautiful, gentle little boy relapsed. The Cancer is BACK. We are devastated.

On hearing the news we fell to pieces, the strength that 'just comes' didn't. Maybe this time we just aren't strong enough to do it all again? We had been told if it came back, there was nothing they could do. I tried to reassure my son that he would get through it again. More chemotherapy was given to try to give him more time. The doctor did her best to explain and asked Bailey if he had any questions. Bailey asked, "Does it hurt to die"? My heart was ripped out, Bailey reached for my hand and said "don't cry mum, I'm going to win".

Treatment began; hair loss, sickness, pain, weight loss, depression, fear, yet all the while saying "I'm going to beat this". I found out about other treatments available abroad, curative treatments, my fight is back! After researching Bailey's options we know he can get another chance at LIFE! However we would have to pay enormous amounts of money, up to £500,000 and more to, but we will not give up! Who could turn their back on such a kind strong little boy, we need to offer him a 2nd chance to beat this, but we need your help.

Please donate whatever you can, and ask your friends to do the same. If everyone who heard about Bailey donated just £1, we'd have the money in no time.
